Team Girl Comic 11 To Be Launched At Glasgow Comic Con

Team Girl Comic 11 Cover
Glasgow’s Team Girl Comic collective will be officially launching the 11th issue of their TGC title at the Glasgow Comic Con this weekend.

With a striking zero gravity cover by Maki Yamazaki, the A5 zine has 46 pages of black and white content with colour cover for £4. This issue features sixteen stories by a mixture of regular and new TGC contributors – Gill Hatcher, Iona Mowat, Coralie Bouguerra, Clare Forrest, MJ Wallace, Letty Wilson, Maki Yamazaki, Ren Wednesday, Penny Sharp, Lucy Licious, Faye Stacey, Eildh Nicolson, Shona Heaney, Jef Sinclair, and Amanda ‘Hateball’ Stewart.

Copies of Team Girl Comic 11 and most back issues are available from the TGC Etsy shop.

Seagull Appreciation Society Cover
Also available at the convention will be TGC founder and co-editor Gill Hatcher’s The Beginner’s Guide To Being Outside, published by Avery Hill and nominated for a British Comic Award last year, and Gill’s latest self-published title The Seagull Appreciation Society. This new twenty page, colour, CD size mini-comic is about how climate change is affecting Scotland’s seabirds and apparently caused a lot of debate when it was launched at the RSPB’s Big Nature Festival in Musselburgh at the end of May.

Copies of The Seagull Appreciation Society are available at Gill’s Etsy shop.

SIF Fox-Fighter Cover
If birds are not your thing then how about one of their mortal enemies? TGC contributor, and Roller Skates And Breakfast Dates creator, MJ Wallace will be debuting her new title, Sif Fox-Fighter. This features real life FIV+ cat Sif and MJ says of the comic, “pick up a copy and read about how the terrified and depressed wee creature we adopted became the loving furbaby he is today.” Sif came from the Cats Protection League and £1 from each copy will be donated to the charity’s Glasgow branch.

Copies of Sif Fox-Fighter will be available from MJ’s Etsy shop after the convention.
