We recently launched a challenge to artists to draw a new Sapphire & Steel strip or send in art inspired by the show, which may be returning to our screens with Luther writer Neil Cross at the helm.

Here’s our first entry to the competition – a chilling version of one of the show’s creepier villains, The Shape, courtesy of artist Tony Luke, creator of the awesome Dominator comics saga.

It’s surely a creature that had many having nightmares back in the 1970s when Sapphire & Steel first aired on ITV – and possibly the inspiration for the look of some modern Doctor Who creatures!
