For anyone who couldn’t get to the “Kirby Consciousness” exhibition at Orbital Comics in London, here are a few hurried snaps Richard Sheaf took the other evening, offering plenty of examples of Jack Kirby comics and artists taking their own spin on his work.
In a special tribute to the Jack Kirby centennial, Orbital’s gallery took a ride along the rainbow bridge for the past month, inviting a slew of amazing artists to contribute their own Kirby-inspired creations to an exciting end-of-year show; from Kirby Krackle to Kirbytronics, the mighty architecture of Asgard and more.
The exhibition has just ended, but Orbital didn’t rest on their laurels. Now on show is an Images Comics-inspired exhibition, A Void Trip to Paradiso – a road-trip buddy movie through space and, a sci-fi adventure set inside a living city seeking to understand ‘life’.
This latest exhibition showcases the incredible storytelling and world-building of Image Comics’ latest series, Void Trip and Paradiso, with original pages by artists Plaid Klaus and Dev Pramanik.
The exhibition runs at Orbital until 15th February 2018 and series co-creators and writers, Ram V (Paradiso) and Ryan O’Sullivan (Void Trip), were at Orbital on Saturday 20th January for launch celebrations, and an exhibition walkthrough.
