Thank you to everyone for supporting downthetubes over the past 24 hours through our GoFundMe campaign. It has been heartening to have received so much support for the team’s work.
We have secured the support needed to pay for a big rise in server costs and continue operations.
I will be keeping the emergency fundraiser open a little longer, but the generosity of many has been a fantastic help, and is hugely appreciated.
downthetubes also has a presence on the regular fundraising site, Kofi.
I contested the server cost hike and got a small reduction, but the narrow window between the bill arriving and when it was due meant I faced a bit of Hobson’s Choice this time round, in terms of looking at alternatives. Forewarned is forearmed for 2026! (Be assured, I’ll be putting more aside to budget for the site’s costs going forward).
Thank you, however you have helped, be it donation or simply sharing the campaign. Particularly as the response also means there are plenty of you out there enjoying the site! That’s encouraging in itself.
