Awesome Comics Podcast probes Shaun Dobes, offers Nottingham Comic Convention ticket competition

Awesome Comics Podcast Number 6 - Shaun Dobie

Episode 8 of the Awesome Comics Podcast is ready to creep into your frontal lobe today. Hosted by Vince Hunt (Red Mask From Mars) , Dan Butcher (Vanguard) and Tony (the hairy and really annoying one) Esmond, this episode has as its guest small press writer, colourist and creator Shaun Dobes.

With talk about the recent Safari Festival in London and fresh from DemonCon in Maidstone the boys are off and running with the usual bad language and larking about they hope one day not to be known for. Shaun talks about the second issue of Descending Outlands his comic that will be dropping at this weekends Melksham Comicon. He describes how and why he came to begin the project, how he goes about finding (and funding) artists and his general process. Really interesting stuff from this enthusiastic (and brilliantly sarcastic) comics creator.

You also get a long box load of reviews and recommendations in the small press UK scene as well as a calendar of upcoming signings and conventions.

Will we find out the secret of Vince’s flamboyant name? Will Tony finally tell his story about bears? Have a listen by clicking the nifty embedded player below!

Plus, there’s also a  competition to win two tickets to the Nottingham Comic Convention on the 24th October continues. Listen in to stand a chance of winning this prize.

So, if you don’t mind a bit of bad language, some sexy dancing and talk about late night Googling of strange illnesses then listen in.
