Dan Dare continues to resonate decades after his debut in the Eagle, B7 Comics new graphic novel by Alex de Campi and Marc Laming gaining national media attention.

BBC News featured an interview with writer Alex de Campi and artist Marc Laming here. The Guardian also covered Dan Dare: First Contact recently, too, here, and The Conversation has a smashing feature by Elizabeth Stanway, Reader in Astronomy and Astrophysics, University of Warwick, who’s clearly looking forward to seeing the completed adventure.
Regionally, if you tune in the the BBC’s Three Counties Radio at 8.40am on Bank Holiday Monday (streaming thereafter), you can hear Marc and B7 Comics publisher Andrew Mark Sewell talking about the project, too.
B7 Comics has also just revealed 2000AD artist Chris Weston’s stunning cover for the Dan Dare: First Contact Paperback Edition, and teased more pages by Marc from the project, coloured by Michael Woods. The publisher had already revealed the cover for the Kickstarter exclusive hardback edition by J.H. Williams III, with another, by 2000AD’s Pye Parr, also in the works.

The publisher, whose projects also include Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies by John Freeman and Neil Edwards, Hancock: The Lad Himself by Stephen Walsh and Keith Page, and a yet to be revealed project drawn by Mike Collins, is aiming to release the graphic novel later this year.
