Asterix and Obelix have a new job – encouraging sanitised hands, thanks to a licensing deal with retail company Puckator, brokered by Start Licensing.

Expect to see these Asterix the Gaul hand sanitiser products on sale in a number of retailers in coming months, but for now Start Licensing tell us you can buy them online from Taos Gifts, who offer a range of similar products.

These are 15ml dispensers, priced £2.95 each, refillable hand sanitiser sprays with a fun Asterix design containing 70% alcohol and glycerine; listed as cruelty free and suitable for vegans, and made from recycled materials.Assorted designs are available.

The founder of downthetubes, which he established in 1998. John works as a comics and magazine editor, writer, and on promotional work for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival. He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics. He has also edited several comic collections, including volumes of “Charley’s War and “Dan Dare”. He’s the writer of "Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies" for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs” with Dave Hailwood.
