(via Lew Stringer): Cartoonist and editor David Leach (the creator of Psycho Gran, which has recently featured in Aces Weekly) is on Channel 4 this evening (Thursday 19th September 19th at 5.00pm) as one of the cooks on Come Dine With Me.

David’s been described in the TV listings as “a cartoonist with a larger than life personality”.

Uh-oh! Anything can happen in the next half hour!

David at work in a scene from the reality show.

David, who currently works at Titan – his role there includes editing the Wallace & Gromit strip which runs in The Sun as well as editor of Adventure Time, Lenore and SpongeBob SquarePants magazine and SpongeBob Comics – began writing and drawing Psycho Gran for Oink! back in the 1980s.

David also co-wrote and co-illustrated The Driver and scripted and drew The Dinner Ladies From Hell for the 1980s version of Toxic! comic, and I still have his Arthur Pilkington t-shirt, another of his ace characters from that period. He was also an editor at Marvel UK and at Titan Books, was the man behind the company’s best Roy of the Rovers collections and its superb The Misadventures of Jane collection – a masterclass in treating vintage British comics material with respect.

Updated: David came joint first on the show with a Brazilian vicar!
