PortmeiriCon 2025, a tribute to event to the cut TV series The Prisoner will take place over the weekend of Friday 11th to Sunday 13th April in Portmeirion, where the series was filmed – and comic creator Brian Gorman is among the guests.
Six of One is the only appreciation society for The Prisoner that has received official acknowledgement and recognition.
Writer, actor, and artist Brian Gorman is the man behind the highly-acclaimed one man show, Everyman: A Celebration of Patrick McGoohan & The Prisoner, which has been performed across the UK, including Portmeirion, and adapted into a successful graphic novel and audio drama.

Brian will be launching a brand new, full colour, The Prisoner themed-publication at Portmeiricon. Accompanied by publisher Ronny Worsey, he’ll give a PowerPoint presentation featuring preliminary artwork and work-in-progress images, with anecdotes about his inspirations, etc.
The full line-up of guests is still to be announced, but it will include actors Derren Nesbitt and Annette Andre, who both appeared in the episode ‘It’s Your Funeral’ and will appear in discussion individually and together to discuss the episode, the series, their careers and much more.
Returning for a third year will be the famous Royal Oakeley Brass Band, to perform two sets of TV/Film and ITC classics along with well known brass band pieces. They’ve performed at Portmeirion before.
This year’s Sunday night entertainment will be provided by the steampunk and chap hop superstar and comic creator Professor Elemental. The theme for the fancy dress will be 60s Legends and prizes will be awarded to the best costumes judged by our impartial village wardens.
With a show created especially for Six of One, Professor Elemental will bring you live music, comedy and a nice cup of tea. So put on your best trousers and get the kettle on… as the critically acclaimed, award winning King of Whimsy makes his way to the Village!

Kevin O’Donnell’s The Prisoner Comic Strip Available Online

Last year, Six of One member Kevin O’Donnell kindly donated his The Prisoner comic strip and screenplay for a proposed The Prisoner tie-in project. “The Final Inch” to the society for the enjoyment of the fans, which you can enjoy on their web site.
“Way back in 1985 I began a comic strip adventure of Number 6 after he had escaped from the Village at the end of ‘Fallout'”, he explains. “It was to be illustrated by Jim Fortey, who was working with me on some educational publications. Regrettably, we only completed the first ten pages as we drifted our separate ways. Such is life, sometimes!
“I had a story outline with a further test to try to crack Number 6 by sending him to the Caribbean on a mission (he was back in the Secret Service, but oblivious of where he had been before). I came back to that old tale when I came across those first comic strip pages recently (nearly 40 years later!). I have no contact with an illustrator now, or the original scripts and notes. I came at the story afresh, more nuanced, and have written it as a screenplay, ‘The Final Inch’.”
Available online to read, Kevin’s Comic Strip and Screenplay includes an introduction, the original ten pages of comic strip, and the screenplay.
