The Commando and British Comics Swap Meet 8 will take place in Glasgow in March, with thousands of Commando Comics and other Picture Libraries on offer, along with British weeklies such as Warlord, Battle, BEANO, Whizzer and Chips, Victor, and 2000AD.
Focused entirely on British comics, this is not a Comic-Con – so no no lycra-clad superheroes, just comics/annuals and comic-readers, “and, if we are lucky, an odd artist or writer may pop in,” says organiser Stephen Hume, who’s also one of the administrators of the Commando and British Weekly Comics – Collectors, Buy, Sell and Swaps Page on Facebook. “You never know…”
If you would like a table to buy, sell or swap from for the day, it costs just £10.00 – contact Stephen via the Facebook Group. All proceeds will go to 29th Glasgow Scout Group.
The venue is 15 minute train ride from Glasgow Central to Pollokshaws East, with a five minute walk to the venue, five minutes drive from Junction 2 of M77 motorway with ample on street parking. There will be brews ‘n’ butties, a charity raffle.
