The 12th Commando and British Weekly Comic Swap Meet will take place in Colchester on Saturday 14th October 2023.
The popular collectors event will place from 11.00am at the Colchester Baptist Church on Eld Lane in the heart of the town, a new venue complementing previous the successful Stoke, Watford and Glasgow events, raising funds for the 12th Colchester Sea Scout group.

The hall is substantial and a wide variety of dealers will have thousands of comics on offer at this eclectic and welcoming comic event, for collectors and readers of all budgets. Buy, sell, swop – and there will also be a bring and buy donation table, and food available (tea, coffee and traditional bacon baps), too.
“I’m looking forward to welcoming comic fans the the historical town of Colchester and relaxing and enjoying a day of comics,” says co-organiser Karl Kennedy.
In addition to the Swap Meet, a social gathering will be taking place on Friday 13th October at 7.00pm at the 3 Wise Monkeys Pub, 60 High St, Colchester CO1 1DN.

Working in British comics publishing since the 1980s, his credits include editor of titles such as Doctor Who Magazine and Overkill for Marvel UK, Babylon 5 Magazine, Star Trek Magazine, and its successor, Star Trek Explorer, and more. He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics; and has edited several comic collections and graphic novels, including volumes of “Charley’s War” and “Dan Dare”, and Hancock: The Lad Himself, by Stephen Walsh and Keith Page.
He’s the writer of comics such as Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs”, with Dave Hailwood.
