2014 Commando Calendar released

Commando-Calendar-2013-W

It is that time of the year again when calendars are appearing in the shops and for the third year running Waverley Books have released a Commando calendar. As in the previous two years the Commando Calendar 2014 has 13 Commando cover images reproduced from the original fully painted artwork in DC Thomson’s archive.

The cover of the calendar is ‘Operation Caveman’ by Jordi Penalva and the twelve months include art by Janek Matysiak, Gordon Livingstone, Jose Maria Jorge, Ken Barr, Carlos Pino and of course Ian Kennedy.

Each year the design of the calendar has been slightly tweaked to improve the layout and information provided, with the 2013 edition including issue titles and artist credits that were not included on the 2012 edition. For 2014 the Waverley designers have gone one step further and included the issue number of the artwork plus a small image of the cover with its Commando logo and issue title wording plus the back cover blurb for the particular issue along with each month’s image.

• The Commando Calendar has a cover price of £7.99 and is available direct with free delivery from the DC Thomson on-line shop
