The date of the sixth Commando and British Comics Swap-Meet has just been announced for March 2020.
Swap-Meet 6 will be held in Glasgow on Saturday 14th March 2020, with thousands of Commando Comics and other Picture Libraries on sale under one roof.
Following on from previous swap-meets and ever increasing interest, the event also includes British weeklies such as Battle/War Picture Library, Whizzer and Chips, Warlord, Victor, Air-Ace and 2000AD – the list is endless.
“This is our 6th event and a fantastic time is had by all,” says co-organiser Stephen Hume.
These Swap-Meets are not a Comic-Con-styled event. Don’t expect to find lycra-clad superheroes, just comics/annuals and comic-readers, and if you’re lucky, the odd comic artist or writer may pop in, just as Mike Dorey, Alan Hebden and Steve MacManus did for the last one earlier this year.
The venue – the Glasgow Scout Group – is a 20 minute train ride from Glasgow Central to Pollockshaws East with a five minute walk to the venue, or a five minute drive from Junction 2 of M77 motorway with ample on street parking. There will be brews ‘n’ butties, a charity raffle and, as ever, the “Comics for the Troops” table.
