Cody Vrosh is a watercolour artist and illustrator based in California, whose stunning work fuses science fiction elements with bold women and playful creatures to create unique speculative illustrations.

downthetubes readers may know him best for his work for companies such as American Gothic Press, Sideshow Collectibles and the Museum of Edgar Allan Poe.
The award-winning creator of Coffee Creatures and Teeth Creatures, his books, available from him direct, include The People I’ve Been, a book on character design for storytelling and TTRPGs.
The book was created following Cody’s long quest to find what really makes for a good character, whether it’s in a drawing, story, role-playing game – or all of the above! – and is the result of a successful crowdfunding campaign he ran last year.

He’s currently working on Little Satellites, a collection of paintings featuring lost astronauts traveling the cosmos exploring themes of solitude and mortality.

Cody, who exhibits his art at comic book conventions and art galleries across the US, is also the co-founder of Binary Winter Press, founded in 2006, an independent book and screen printing press. He works and resides in a “detached netherspace” in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife, writer Sheatiel Sarao and zero cats. He is passionate about human rights, animal rights, and makes a mean vegan cheesecake.
