Blood for the Baron is a superb not-for-profit website run by Jim Marshall that’s been flying the flag for Action Force, both the original British UK toys and comics, for 22 years. Now, they’ve launched a crowdfunding campaign for a collection of their high quality fan-created fiction, seeking support for Palitoy’s Action Force Redux – Trade Paperback 01 on Kickstarter.

Collecting strips drawn by artists such as Geoff Senior and others, backers will not only receive a copy of the Palitoy’s Action Force Redux – Trade Paperback 01, but a copy of bonus Palitoy’s Action Force Redux 001-100 Sourcebook and BFTB Action Force Palitoy Photobook, too.
Expanding on the original concepts developed during the days Action Force featured in the weekly comic, Battle, pitting the heroic team against Baron Ironblood and his Red Shadows, the Blood for the Baron team have been creating all-new stories for several years, publishing them online over on bloodforthebaron.com. The website has been the forerunner of all matters Action Force related for over two decades, and the combination of a vibrant forum and comprehensive toy and comic archives have all helped pave the way for the return of the popular Red Shadow toys and characters across a variety of media.

The Palitoy’s Action Force Redux Trade Paperback 01 is an all-new 100-page book, collecting material from Palitoy’s Action Force Redux issues 001-004. Featuring a brand-new cover by Patrick Goddard, the anthology stories are rearranged into read-order for the first time as a complete graphic novel.
Every backer will also receive an exclusive A4 print and A2 poster (sent folded) of the incredible cover artwork.

The stories are all written by Blood For The Baron‘s Jim Marshall and the book features the artistic talents of Patrick Goddard (2000AD, Judge Dredd, Sniper Elite), Robert Atkins (GI Joe, Transformers, Spider-Man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), Brian Atkins (Final Street, Family Graves), Geoff Senior (Action Force, Transformers, To The Death), Alejandro Cabral (GI Joe, Action Force: Millerverse, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Ghostbusters), Mariano A’Q (Masters of the Universe), Wack! (MASK ’85, MASK ’86), Michael Collins Otu and Rodolfo Valenzuela (Loaiza Fortun, Aztec)… one heck of a lineup!

The not-for-profit books on offer are huge compendiums of amazing fact and fiction celebrating the British toys and comics, which were bolstered with recoloured GI Joe and Cobra toys back in the 1980s. Sample strip material featured on the crowdfunding page should be evidence enough of this, but if you need to see more, head over to the Blood For The Baron.
