Artist and publisher Paul Mark Tams has launched a Kickstarter for a Moments in Time Calendar 2027 from Daryl Joyce, best known for his Doctor Who art.
Darryl should need no introduction to most downthetubes readers: he’s a highly regarded illustrator and designer, specialising in genre film and TV illustrations, whose work has been used for numerous DVD and Blu Ray covers, books, animations, magazines and TV documentaries.
Having illustrated pieces for Doctor Who Magazine, the Doctor Who Storybook, the Doctor Who annual, and the official BBC website e-book editions of several original novels, he was approached in 2006 to provide the background art for some of BBC Studio’s animation projects, including The Power of the Daleks. His work has also been presented more recently in the book, The Illustrated Journey: Sixty Years Through Space and Time.
The new Art Calendar showcases thirteen of his own favourite moments from 26 years of time travel, and offers a smashing way to keep track of times and places throughout 2027. Presented as A4 Landscape, which opens to a full length A3 Wall Calendar with each month of 2027, you also get a bonus month of January 2028, displayed under a glorious new artwork, featuring moments from the first seven Doctors adventures.
The modest Kickstarter to cover the printing and production costs to reach both fans and art lovers worldwide has already hit target – you can check it out here.
The team behind the project will be mailing the Calendars in plenty time to act as both a Christmas present and personal keepsake once the campaign closes and have a fast turnaround with their UK based printers.
