After the huge success of Sherlock Holmes and the Empire Builders The Gene Genie Volume 1 graphic novel on Zoop, more than doubling its target, Tripwire editor-in-chief Joel Meadows isn’t resting on his laurels. He’s currently seeking support for Face To Face Creative Portraits, a unique A4 hardcover featuring a selection of some of his superb portrait photographs of movers and shakers in the worlds of comics, genre and film.
You can find the campaign – fast approaching its £2500 target, but needing just a little more support – here on Kickstarter.
“I’ve always wanted to create a book like this and now seems to be the perfect time to do it,” says Joel. “I’ve spent over thirty years interviewing people like Alan Moore, Michael Moorcock, Dave Gibbons and more and so this gives the book a great range of subjects from the worlds of comics and genre.”
He has every right to be proud – as some sample pages show, he has a great eye for a good portrait, his subjects for this collection including creators such as Alan Moore, Michael Moorcock and Posy Simmonds.
The campaign offers a regular lavish hardcover, a hardcover with postcards and A4 prints, a digital edition and a very limited edition in a customised box with signed photo prints by Moorcock, and artists Liam Sharp and Simon Davis.
Joel’s work has fans in the comics industry, and you can join them by backing the campaign here. The campaign runs until 14 March 2024.
