Dark Horse has announced the next adventure in Jeff Lemire and Dean Ormston’s beloved Black Hammer universe, The Quantum Age: From the World of Black Hammer.
The Quantum Age follows Sherlock Frankenstein & The Legion of Evil and Doctor Star & The Kingdom of Lost Tomorrows as the latest installment in the greater Black Hammer universe.
Moon Knight artist Wilfredo Torres joins Black Hammer co-creator Jeff Lemire in this new six-issue series full of new superheroes. Award-winning colorist Dave Stewart (Hellboy) and Doctor Star letterer Nate Piekos complete the impressive creative team.
Wilfredo Torres and artist Christian Ward (Black Bolt) provide the futuristic cover and variant cover.
In the world of the Eisner Award-winning Black Hammer series – but a thousand years in the future – a collection of superheroes, inspired by the legendary heroes of Black Hammer Farm, must band together to save the planet from an authoritarian regime.
The Quantum Age follows a young Martian as he works to reform The Quantum League to save the world, while also solving the riddle of what happened to the great heroes of the twentieth century.
Black Hammer fans can sneak a peek of The Quantum Age heroes in Dark Horse’s 2018 Free Comic Book Day Gold Offering months before the new series is set to launch.

The founder of downthetubes, which he established in 1998. John works as a comics and magazine editor, writer, and on promotional work for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival. He is currently editor of Star Trek Explorer, published by Titan – his third tour of duty on the title originally titled Star Trek Magazine.
Working in British comics publishing since the 1980s, his credits include editor of titles such as Doctor Who Magazine, Babylon 5 Magazine, and more. He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics. He has also edited several comic collections, including volumes of “Charley’s War” and “Dan Dare”.
He’s the writer of “Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies” for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs” with Dave Hailwood.
