An exhibition of art from Psycho Gran opens at the Belle Vue Pub in High Wycombe on Wednesday (6th February 2019), running for six weeks, with creator David Leach attending the opening night.
Psycho Gran – recently seen within the digital pages of Aces Weekly, with other adventures available in print from Titan Comics, is the creation of David Leach, who has worked in the comics industry for many years, starting out as the ‘ghost artist’ of Henry’s Cat.
A cartoonist and editor “with a larger than life personality”, currently at Titan Comics, he’s worked for IPC, Marvel UK, Marvel US, BBC Worldwide, Panini, Egmont, Tundra, and Fleetway.
His work has appeared in The Sunday Times, the Daily Telegraph, The Sun and Private Eye as well as Whizzer & Chips, Gas, Brain Damage, UT, Moose Kid, Casper and also within the pages of 1980s cult comics, TOXIC! and OINK!, where he created Pyscho Gran and “The Dinner Ladies from Hell”. In addition to this, David co-wrote and drew The Toxic Crusaders for Marvel.
In his role as editor for Titan Comics, he works on a variety of titles including The Blacklist, The Prisoner, Anno Dracula, Hammer’s The Mummy, Captain Kronos, Lenore, Fighting American, Dan Dare, Wallace & Gromit and Adventure Time.
He’s also edited collections of vintage comic strips including Betty Boop, Mandrake The Magician, Flash Gordon, Jane and Roy of the Rovers.
The exhibition includes original artworks, comics, postcards etc and David will at the opening night tomorrow, the event starting at 7.00pm.
“The Belle Vue is a great little pub with a great atmosphere,” David enthuses.

For those of you coming in from London, the pub is right next to the station, just cross over the bridge on Platform 2 to Platform 3 and exit into the par park, then walk along the Gordon Road, that runs beside the railway lines. It’s less than a five minute walk from the station.

He’s the writer of “Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies” for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs” with Dave Hailwood.
