Episode 45 of the Lakes International Comic Art Festival Podcast features a chat with comic creator Nick Prolix, creator of the brilliant independent comic Slang Pictorial.
A writer, artist and cartoonist living in the Fens, Slang Pictorial – available to buy online here – follows the highlights and lowlifes of flashy wideboys and their woebegotten back-seat darlings through the crummy streets of a fogbound city. It’s very funny and well worth checking out, as is Nick’s other work, such as his recently-published one shot comic Around the Block with Prolix.
Nick chats with Pete Taylor about his work, love of comics and his favourite creator.
Also on the Podcast, hosts Ian Loxam and Nikki Bates review the recently-published Reel Love by Owen Michael Johnson, published by Unbound, which got its launch at last year’s Lakes International Comic Art Festival, the Awesome Comic series by the guys behind the Awesome Comic Podcast, plus Ether Issue 2 by Matt Garvey.
Mike Williams also looks at the world of Conan, a franchise he has loved, left and found again.
