Alongside publishing its submission guidelines for both writers and artists, the team at DC Thomson’s Commando have put out a time sensitive, specific call for specific pitches from authors.
Here’s the appeal in full…
Calling all Writers!
We’re currently looking for writers who are willing to jump into action and pen some exciting adventure stories.
We’re currently looking for pitches which feature any of the following:
Women at War – from WRENs to the ATS, Land Girls to Night Witches, women have played inspiring and important roles throughout military history. We’re looking for story ideas which see these ladies in action.
ANZAC Heroes – the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps faced some of the fiercest action during World War One. We’re looking for stories which showcase the heroism of these brave soldiers.
The Battle of Pork Chop Hill – as the 65th anniversary of the battle approaches, we’re looking for an exciting story which commemorates the events.
• This call for submissions for Commando will close on Monday 21st August 2017 and you should not pitch before reading the Commando submission guidelines in full here
