The latest edition of EAGLE Times, the magazine of the Eagle Society, has just been published, an issue sure to be of interest to fans of artist Frank Bellamy.

Featuring a cover by Carol Tarrant, included are the first parts of articles by Steve Winders on both “The Happy Warrior”, the story of wartime Prime Minister Winston Churchill (a series that gained approval from the politician himself, and an appropriate inclusion for a month spanning VE Day), and “Montgomery of Alamein”, about the famous wartime General. Both strips were illustrated by Bellamy, and written by Clifford Makins, and Steve offers incisive commentary on script and story for both.

This issue also features articles by David Britton about “Blackbow the Cheyenne”, “Riders of the Range”, and the artist June Mendoza; and Peter Barr’s latest piece on “EAGLE’s Sporting Heroes”.

Plus, there’s not one, but two of Jim Duckett‘s entertaining “In and Out of the EAGLE” pieces, the first offering background on the 1980s “Dan Dare” song from the band Loose Talk, the second looking at two Eagle books inspired by the Scouts and their founder, Baedn-Powell; and the first part of a new “Archie Willoughby” story by Steve Winders.
