Daleks!, the animated Doctor Who spin-off launches today, 12th November 2020, on the official Doctor Who YouTube Channel.
Five 10 minute episodes of Daleks! will stream, a new episode debuting weekly every Thursday, featuring the voices of Nicholas Briggs (the voice of the Daleks in Doctor Who) Joe Sugg (YouTube, Strictly Come Dancing), Anjli Mohindra (Bodyguard, The Sarah Jane Adventures) and Ayesha Antoine (Holby City).

Daleks! sees the Dalek Empire come up against a terrible force. The Daleks, the most feared race in the universe, finally meet their match when they invade the fabled Archive of Islos. What ancient and deadly force lurks inside the greatest library in existence?
Soon their home planet Skaro is under attack and the Dalek Emperor is on the run. Can the Daleks defeat their opponent and regain their planet, even with help from an old enemy? Or will this be the end of the Daleks?
In other Doctor Who news, it’s good to hear that filming for Season 13 of Doctor Who is now underway, with Jodie Whittaker reprising her role as the Doctor, although the season will be shorter.
“In this strangest of years, the ‘Doctor Who’ production team have worked wonders to get the show back into production,” says showrunner Chris Chibnall.
“With new and rigorous COVID working protocols, it’s going to take us a little longer to film each episode, meaning we expect to end up with eight episodes, rather than the usual 11. But rest assured, the ambition, humour, fun and scares you expect from ‘Doctor Who’ will all still be firmly in place.”

Pre-COVID, Doctor Who seasons ran for 12 episodes per year, plus a Christmas special. This year the festive special Revolution of the Daleks, filmed back in 2019, is expected to air on New Year’s Day 2021, while season 13 is likely to air in autumn 2021.
