Who Dare Publishing has just released a smashing new limited edition portfolio – The Target Cover Art of Andrew Skilleter.
Andrew’s perhaps best known for his Doctor Who art (although he’s done a lot more) and this is the fourth such release from Who Dares, the latest in an ongoing series of Limited Edition Portfolios featuring his Doctor Who Target Books cover art.
This release features seven stunning A4 size prints of all the covers for Tom Baker’s final season, Season 18 – The Leisure Hive, Meglos, Full Circle, State of Decay, Warriors’ Gate, The Keeper of Traken and Logopolis – each signed by Andrew. These are presented inside a bespoke, hand made, hardback portfolio folder designed to sit on your bookshelf with other large format books and annuals.
This very limited Edition will start shipping the first week of December, with later orders shipping second week of January 2018.
Each Folder is hand made in Cornwall, with a leather look for the interior and inserts to hold the fine art archival prints. Also included is a 20-page, beautifully designed Full Colour Booklet packed with information including an introduction by Marcus Hearn, Editor of Doctor Who Magazine and Andrew’s insight into the creation of each of the six covers.
You also get a Certificate of Authenticity, numbered and signed by the Artist and a bonus Soft Enamel Target Badge, 24mm in size with silver plated rear and butterfly fixing.
Now, I can hear some of you perhaps balking at the £85 cost of this – but Andrew’s explained the reasons behind the cost rises, and if you’ve bought previous collections, you’ll already know how amazing these Portfolios and their content look. There’s no stinting on quality,
However, for those of you looking for something with a lower price tag that a little bit different for the Doctor Who fan (or fans) in your family for Christmas, then check out Who Dares first Target Art Card Collection featuring the work of artist Jeff Cummins.
This new Art Card Collection ranged, priced at £9.99, offers Six A5 size cards featuring a full colour image on one side and Jeff’s biography and his commentary on the artwork on the reverse – all in classic Target book style. These are presented inside a (laminated) full colour folder, cello-wrapped and sealed.
This Collection features Jeff’s covers for The Talons of Weng-Chiang, The Face of Evil, The Horror of Fang Rock, The Three Doctors, The Giant Robot and The Doomsday Weapon.
Both items offer that something a little different for Who fans. Check out the full details via the links below.
