Doctor Who – the Fifteenth Doctor – battles the Daleks!

Doctor Who Magazine 626 is on sale this Thursday, 5th February 2026, and sees the Fifteenth Doctor up against the Daleks – as never, as yet, seen on screen.

The cover is a great promotion – and a rare comic-focused cover – for the second instalment of “Corruption of the Daleks”. The story sees The Fifteenth Doctor and Mel face off the cyborgs of Skaro, written by Alan Barnes, with art by John Ross, colour by James Offredi, letters by Roger Langridge, edited by Jason Quinn.

The issue also includes the last part of Pete McTighe‘s “The War Between the Land and the Sea” Production Diary

Plus…

  • An exclusive look at the content of the forthcoming Blu-ray release of Season 21 – Peter Davison’s final season as the Doctor, that also introduced Sixth Doctor Colin Baker
  • Dylan Holmes Williams, director of The War Between the Land and the Sea, shares his techniques
  • Scientific advisor Dave Hone on giving the Sea Devils a ‘proper’ name
  • This month in 1980 – A look at Colin Baker’s other big sci-fi role
  • Una McCormack considers how important Liverpool has been in the fortunes of Doctor Who
  • Fact of Fiction – Deciphering the secrets of The Long Song in The Rings of Akhaten

The last full “comic strip” cover was published way back in 1980, Doctor Who Weekly No. 36 featuring art from “The Time Witch” by Dave Gibbons.

Art covers for Doctor Who Magazine are something of a rarity these days. They include the cover for Doctor Who Magazine was No. 442 in 2012, a Christmas cover by Vince McIndoe, the first non-photographic cover since Doctor Who Magazine 350. The cover was a tribute to the 1924 Radio Times Christmas issue.

Other art covers include the reprint of Chris Achilleos‘ “Genesis of the Daleks” art on Doctor Who Magazine 481; and Oliver Arkinstall-Jones‘ cover for Doctor Who Magazine 581.
