English PEN, the charity partner has released more information about Draw The Line Here, a crowdfunded book of cartoons in celebration of free speech.

The world was shocked by the murders at the offices of Charlie Hebdo magazine in Paris earlier this month. However, the events also prompted strong affirmations of the importance of free speech and religious tolerance and the response from cartoonists was extraordinary. In the immediate aftermath of the attacks they responded with outrage, defiance and resilience, by picking up their pencils and drawing.

To celebrate this growing solidarity, the Professional Cartoonists’ Organisation and funding platform Crowdshed have collaborated with English PEN to publish Draw The Line Here, a specially curated collection of cartoons produced in the days immediately following the Paris attacks.  Profits from sales will be shared between English PEN’s freedom of expression campaigns programme, and the families of the Charlie Hebdo victims.

The project is seeking to crowdfund £5,000 to produce the book and has already raised half the money, but they still need help to push them over the finish line.

The books cost £15 each and you can pre-order your copy of Draw The Line Here
