Fancy a pint? A bite to eat? And reading a British comic annual while you’re waiting? Leamington Spa’s The Drawing Board is up your street, then!

We’ve highlighted some public houses with art and comics themes in the past, on our social media and here on site, both here in the UK and abroad. The Drawing Board, in Leamington Spa, easily qualifies for a mention!

Established in 2015, The DB is a much celebrated eatery and drinkery on two floors; an eclectic, independent Free House with a good mix of ales, malts, crafts and wines, its owners pitch it as a relaxed, family and dog friendly place to eat and drink. They’ve clearly gone out to make the decor fit the name, the comic theme running throughout – to the delight of downthetubes readers like Myles Sullivan, who’s been there, and tipped us off.

While you’re waiting for what looks like fantastic, and certainly mouth watering food, if their Instagram posts are anything to go by, you can grab a great British comic Annual off one of the voluminous shelves that’s simply crammed with them, if conversation is slow.

“It serves great beer, but don’t forget your wallet,” Myles says.

Not content with running a pub, the team also run The Bottle Shop in the High Street, offering even more beer, Japanese whisky and interesting spirits, you can also buy online; and The Magic Wingdom restaurant on Dormer Place – a Chicken Wing, Burger & Bao Restaurant, heavy on vegetarian and vegan options, that also sells, cocktails, craft beer and natural wine.
