First Look: Gun Honey, a new Hard Case Crime comic

Titan Comics have just released a trailer and advance pages for their upcoming Hard Case Crime comic, Gun Honey #1, written by Charles Ardai, with art by Ang Hor Kheng, and covers by Bill Sienkiewicz, Robert McGinnis, Adam Hughes and others.

With the tag “She’ll get you the weapon you need, where you need it, when you need it”, Gun Honey is the debut comic series from award-winning author Charles Adai, co-founder of Hard Case Publishing.

When a gun smuggled into a high-security prison leads to the death of dozens and the escape of a brutal criminal, notorious weapons smuggler Joanna Tan is enlisted by the US government: find the man she set loose and bring him down!

Charles Ardai is an American writer, the founder and CEO. of Juno, an internet company, and founder and editor of Hard Case Crime, a line of pulp-style paperback crime novels. His writing has appeared in mystery magazines such as Ellery Queen’s Mystery Magazine and Alfred Hitchcock’s Mystery Magazine, gaming magazines such as Computer Gaming World and Electronic Games, and anthologies such as Best Mysteries of the Year and The Year’s Best Horror Stories. He’s also edited numerous short story collections and is the writer of numerous award-winning crime novels, including his debut, back in 2004, Little Girl Lost. He was also writer and producer on the SyFy television series Haven, inspired by the Hard Case Crime novel The Colorado Kid by Stephen King.

Ang Hor Kheng has been drawing as a hobby since he was three, breathing life into just about anything that inspires him, an artist who prefers to work on traditional ink medium and occasionally dabble in watercolour. He’s well known for his work with independent storytellers visualising their stories in comic book or graphic novel format, but has worked on many other media projects.

• Gun Honey #1 will hit stores and digital devices on 22nd September 2021. Fans will be able to pre-order in the US from their local comic shop, in the UK/Europe from Forbidden Planet (Affiliate Link), and digitally
