A raffle offering some great 2000AD-inspired art by Henry Flint, utilising JustGiving, is in progress right now to raise money for the charity, MIND, in memory of British comic creator, editor, publisher and letterer Dave Evans, aka Bolt-01.
Unbeknownst to his family and friends, Dave was battling with his mental health and sadly lost that battle back in May.
As letterer Bolt-01, he contributed his unique skill set, honed over decades, to countless independent comic titles across the years, his work deservedly admired and much appreciated.
Organised by the Mega City Book Club Podcast’s Eamonn Clarke in Dave’s memory, the first prize in the raffle is an A3 sized Judge Dredd sketch by Henry Flint, in the style of early Mike McMahon. It was originally created for a charity auction at a Bristol convention some years ago.
“I sent it back to Henry to get it signed,” Eamonn explains, “and he very kindly donated some other sketches so we have some more prizes.”
Second prize is the head sketch of Dredd and sketches of Borisenko and Nadia from “Day of Chaos”.
Third prize is the Zombo head sketch plus another Borisenko sketch.
Fourth prize is the Tharg Dredd Mouth sketch plus what appears to be a prelim piece from the Titan or Enceladus story.
And fifth prize is a little signed book of Henry’s abstract designs and a booklet of character design sketches for another project.
To qualify to be part of the draw, make a donation here on JustGiving, then email a copy of your donation receipt to MCBCpodcast@gmail.com
“Tickets are £2 each, no gift aid because you are getting a virtual raffle ticket,” Eamonn explains, “and it’s really important that you give me some way of contacting you if you win.
“Thank you for your donations and good luck.”
Please read the rules carefully and make sure to email the MegaCity Book Club your donation receipt at MCBCpodcast@gmail.com
Entries close at midnight on Saturday 24th July 2021 and the draw will take place on Sunday 25th July – and the video of the draw will be posted on the podcast Facebook page and 2000AD forums
