The latest Lakes International Comic Art Festival Podcast (Episode 11) is live and features an interview with award-winning comic creator Gareth Brookes.
A man of many media, Gareth, one of this year’s Festival guests, is known for his unusual approach to materials, using embroidery, textiles, lino-cut print, stencilling and even pressed flowers in his work.
Gareth, who we’ve also interviewed here on downthetubes as part of our “Kendal Calling” series, talks about comics, his books – and beer.
The Podcast team also review Kill or be Killed Volume 2, The Facts of Life, andThe Rabbit and Gods and give their thoughts on the new Death Note movie.
Mike talks all about 2000AD‘s Slaine and his history and Pete starts his look at the life of Jack Kirby as we all celebrate 100 years since his birth.
The podcast close with music from the amazing Pop Noir, who are Joe and Luke McGarry with a track entitled “Don’t Fool Yourself”, who played an outstanding set at last year’s festival and are back with more in 2017.
