Just released is this terrific poster for Granite City Comic-Con (20th – 21st May 2017, Aberdeen) by Gary Erskine, coloured by Yel Zamor.
The first Granite City Comic-Con was held in May 2015, and its success ensured the event – which raised over £3000 for local charity CLAN Cancer Support – instantly became a staple in the North East Scotland culture calendar.
Last year, the event moved to the Hilton Treetops hotel, and returns there this year. Announced guests include comic creators Ryan Brown, Gary Erskine, Glenn Fabry and John Wagner,
“I’m delighted to be part of this great event,” says Gary.
If you’re interested in attending, then VIP ticket holders will be receiving an extremely limited edition print of this poster (without any of the advertising on it). Lucky dogs!
Among his many other projects, you may recall one of Gary’s recent projects was Frontlines: Requiem, published through Amazon’s Jet City Comics. As we reported last year, Gary not only drew this series – he also designed the whole universe for the comic. Characters, spaceships, aliens, uniforms, badges — everything.
Needless to say, his work went down a storm with the creative team, who are hoping Frontlines will make the jump from the books and comics to TV or film.
He’s also of course still a major part of the fabulous Roller Grrrls project (follow progress here).
