Dead Eyes, by writer Gerry Duggan and artist John McCrea is back from Image Comics this September. Dead Eyes: The Empty Frames takes off after the events of the original mafia mystery story.
On X, John McCrea has emphasised how important preorders are for titles like this.
“You know me and Gerry would very much like it if you would put an order in with your LCS,” he asks. “The pre orders are vital to Dead Eyes going forward!”
In the first Dead Eyes story, released in collection in 2020, we met Martin Dobbs, a hot-tempered, foul-mouthed former mercenary and gun-for-hire who’s just been forced out of retirement-with both funny and violent results.
Dead Eyes was pitched as equal parts Unforgiven, The Equalizer, and Robin Hood, from two of comics’ most irreverent creators: writer Gerry Duggan (Deadpool) and artist John McCrea (Hitman), and was an instant hit.

Dead Eyes: The Empty Frames, a a five-issue miniseries, kicks off a new chapter in the life of the fan-favourite vigilante thriller, hitting shelves this September.
In this new adventure, the world’s most unkillable comic is out of hiding and back stomping around Boston. At the end of the first volume, the masked hood known as Dead Eyes picked up a clue as to the location of the paintings swiped in the largest private art heist in America.

Can Dead Eyes and Wheels take down the score while avoiding the cops and the mafia? Creators Duggan and McCrea are back and knocking teeth down throats.
