Humanoids UK has begun marketing its brand on Facebook and Twitter, the latest development from the company the graphic novel publishing company founded in Los Angeles in 1998.
Its catalogue – considered as one of the most prestigious and innovative in the world – includes works by a long list of major artists and writers, such as Mœbius, Alexandro Jodorowsky, John Cassaday and Geoff Johns.
Author, lecturer, editor, and chair of the Comic Book Alliance Tim Pilcher is the Humanoids Liaison, whose experience in the comics business began over 20 years ago at DC Comics Vertigo imprint, based in London, as an assistant editor. He was also associate editor on Comics International. He’s worked for Dorling Kindersley, Penguin Books, Weldon Owen, BBC Worldwide, DeAgostini and Ilex Press, amongst others.
He’s also been a consultant editor on numerous comic-related projects and chaired endless panel discussions at conventions and his book, Comic Book Babylon: A Cautionary Tale of Sex, Drugs & Comics, was successfully funded through Kickstarter earlier this year, promising a revealing and completely unofficial memoir of DC Comics’ legendary London office, to celebrate Vertigo’s 20th anniversary.

The founder of downthetubes, which he established in 1998. John works as a comics and magazine editor, writer, and on promotional work for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival. He is currently editor of Star Trek Explorer, published by Titan – his third tour of duty on the title originally titled Star Trek Magazine.
Working in British comics publishing since the 1980s, his credits include editor of titles such as Doctor Who Magazine, Babylon 5 Magazine, and more. He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics. He has also edited several comic collections, including volumes of “Charley’s War” and “Dan Dare”.
He’s the writer of “Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies” for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs” with Dave Hailwood.
