Wrapped in a cover from Neil Roberts, 2000AD Prog 2063 hits all good newsagents, comic shops and digital platforms today, Wednesday 10th January 2018.
This week’s favourite dialogue? Got to be Fly-Trap’s “My tendrils… they’re throbbing!”. Yes, much in demand scripter Peter Milligan delivers full-on craziness in “Bad Company” this week, with Rufus Dayglo’s art perfect for the story, as Mullarkey begins to struggle to keep kill-crazy Kano in check and the Company face down a telepathically-generated attack. Great stuff.
Indeed, with Hammerstein and Mongrol going at it full throttle in “ABC Warriors” and Judge Dredd facing off what appear to be deadly ghosts, there’s plenty of chills and thrills this prog, and while “Brass Sun” largely comprises the most horrific public service imaginable, the final page twists the knife for Wren and Septimus.
Colin MacNeill’s art on “Judge Dredd” by the way, is top notch.
“Savage” is a bit of a pause for breath and some back story catch up, but ends on the kind of cliffhanger this partly retro series thrives on, harking back to early Progs. Cracking!
Don’t forget that next week, the new Judge Dredd Magazine is on sale, with three new stories making their debut – including the final DREDD movie comic sequel, guest starring… Judge Death and the other Dark Judges.
Plus, 2000AD – The Ultimate Collection Issue 10 is on sale now in newsagents, offering more Dredd action with the collected story “Return of the King”.
In this issue:
JUDGE DREDD: ECHOES

Mega-City One, 2140 AD. Home to over 72 million citizens, this urban hell is situated along the east coast of post-apocalyptic North America. Crime is rampant, and only the zero-tolerance Judges — empowered to dispense instant justice — can stop total anarchy. Toughest of them all is JUDGE DREDD — he is the Law!
He’s been picked up by scavengers near the East-Meg One ruins, but they are seemingly being possessed…

Young Wren must find the elements of the key that will restart the sun, and has embarked on an epic quest with conductor novice Septimus. An aspect of the Blind Watchmaker, the Orrery’s creator, was implanted in Wren’s head, and she’s now transferred it to Arthur, a robot assassin…
SAVAGE: THE THOUSAND YEAR STARE
by Pat Mills (Writer) Patrick Goddard (Artist) Ellie De Ville (Letterer)

Now, in 2015, Savage has been stationed in Volgan-occupied Berlin under the guise of bar owner Herr Wilder, but his hatred of Volgans caused him to go on killing sprees. Now he has partnered with Volgan cop Nika Volodina to investigate Volgan experiments…
BAD COMPANY: TERRORISTS
by Peter Milligan (Writer) Rufus Dayglo (Artist) Dom Regan (Colourist) Simon Bowland (Letterer)
It has been a decade since man fought the Krool on the planet Ararat. Danny Franks was just a raw recruit until he was drafted into the guerrilla unit known as BAD COMPANY.
