Need to calm down in this crazy world? Take some time out to practise mindfulness by colouring a weekly meditation with One Year Wiser: The Colouring Book from SelfMadeHero, out next week.
In case it’s passed you by, colouring books for adults are huge right now. Back in April, for example, The Guardian reported that in the US, Scottish illustrator Johanna Basford was topping the book sales charts, with her colouring books for adults taking top spots on Amazon.com’s bestseller lists.
Mike Medaglia, a Huffington Post blogger and Zen Buddhist practitioner, and whose work includes Last Days of Nobodies published by Avery Hill, has illustrated 52 meditations based on the words of inspirational thinkers from Gandhi to Virginia Woolf and Rumi to Roosevelt.
One Year Wiser is a colouring book for adults to soothe, calm, and inspire, offering the perfect opportunity to channel your creative energies and unwind by personalising a weekly meditation. The book empowers you to be wiser and calmer, but it’s a gift for sharing too, providing a fun activity for anyone interested in exploring mind, body, and spirit or just simply experimenting with the inner artist within you.
Mike, who has developed a strong fan following with his meditation comics on Huffington Post, has also created One Year Wiser, a spiritually uplifting full-colour book of 365 daily meditations, which will be published by SelfMadeHero in September.

One Year Wiser: The Colouring Book is published on 8th July 2015 (paperback, 112 pp, rrp £8.99)
