Wicked Comics, the team behind Malta Comic Con have just announced dates for their 2022 event, after a two-year absence because of the pandemic. The event always has a significant number of British creators in attendance, so if you fancy being somewhere warmer in late October, this event could be for you.
The family-oriented, action-packed event will take place over the weekend of the 29th – 30th October 2022, to celebrate Pop-Culture on Malta.
Marking the welcome announcement on Monday, at an event attended by Malta’s Minister for the National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government, Owen Bonnici, the team have also unveiled their event poster, this year was designed by the talented Mario Torrisi, a Marvel Italy artist.

Supported by Arts Council Malta once again, during the weekend, to be held at the Malta Conventions and Fairs Center, Ta’ Qali, visitors can expect various workshops, gaming events, talks and discussions, retailers, cosplay competitions and more.
The highlight is certain to be the Artist Zone, which will showcase both local and foreign talent.
In the coming weeks, Wicked Comics will be announcing more details, the line-up of guests – so keep a lookout for more news.

The founder of downthetubes, which he established in 1998. John works as a comics and magazine editor, writer, and on promotional work for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival. He is currently editor of Star Trek Explorer, published by Titan – his third tour of duty on the title originally titled Star Trek Magazine.
Working in British comics publishing since the 1980s, his credits include editor of titles such as Doctor Who Magazine, Babylon 5 Magazine, and more. He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics. He has also edited several comic collections, including volumes of “Charley’s War” and “Dan Dare”.
He’s the writer of “Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies” for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs” with Dave Hailwood.
