British independent comic and graphic novel publisher Markosia has teased their latest horror comic collection, Evil Cast, out next week in all good comic shops.
Created and first released in series format back in 2020, Evil Cast is by writer, podcaster and horror super-fan Kyle Stück (The Night Shift, Humming Fools) with art by Enrico Orlandi, creator of Dark Horse’s The Flower of the Witch.
The comic, “bathed in blood and self-awareness” follows fictional versions of Kyle and his longtime collaborator Noah Baslé, of Ominous Media. Together, they find themselves caught up in a horror adventure filled with all the monsters and evil they previously thought to just be stories.
“Whether it’s through the recreation of classic horror movie posters for each issue or the playful tribute and subversion of tropes, this is a must-read for fans of the genre,” enthuses Markosia’s Editor In Chief Ian Sharman. “Deaths are bloddy, jokes are sharp, and horror Easter eggs abound!”
Wait a minute… Easter eggs? Now we know what drew our attention to this…
Kyle Stück was born in the jungles of Ecuador, a magical land laden with mystical and wise jaguars, empanadas, and a cool air that has yet to be matched. Like all good things though, his time in Ecuador eventually came to an end in 2010 when his family departed for the similarly magical land of the United States. He currently lives in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
His senior film Give Me to the Waves won Best Short Film at the Chandler International Film Festival and was an Official Selection of the NOLA Horror Film Fest. After graduating college, Kyle further embraced his inner-angst and started writing poetry, eventually publishing a collection titled Culaccino. His work has also appeared in the Dark Matter Magazine. When Kyle isn’t writing, hosting the art podcast Humming Fools and the horror podcast The Night Shift, or describing himself in the third-person, he busies himself by absorbing all forms of media and or eating/drinking with his fan base, all of whom he normally refers to as his “friends and family.”
Established in 2005, Markosia has become one of the UK’s leading independent publishers, particularly in the graphic novel field. The publisher has gained a reputation for producing a diverse range of comic books, graphic novels, children’s picture books and prose novels that cover all genres, with the highest possible production values.
