The very first Banda á Feira Comics Festival will take place in Vigo, Galicia, Spain next weekend, Saturday 4th – Sunday 5th June, an event organised by the Asociación de Vecinos del Calvario.

The event is being Promoted with a poster by Julio Martínez, known artistically as Das Pastoras, perhaps best known for his work in Metabarons, the event aims to bring comics closer to the people of Vigo by taking them to the streets.
Guests include Mayte Alvarado, Anabel Colazo, Carles Dalmau, Borja Gonsález, and many locally-based creators, surely the bed rock of any major Festival.
With the view that everyone can enjoy comics, the organisers of Banda á Feira have planned out an event offering talks, workshops for children, and various exhibitions arranged throughout the pedestrian zone of Urzáiz street, in the surroundings of the Calvario Market.

This isn’t the first time Das Pastoras has had fun homaging famous comic characters! Check out this poster he did for Viñetas desde o Atlántico, back in 2017! (That long-running Spanish event returns in August, details here)
