The 150th edition of EAGLE Times, published by the Eagle Society, is out now, featuring an absolutely wonderful cover by Graham Bleathman, featuring Dan Dare‘s spacecraft Anastasia flying over a future London.

This alone is worth buying a copy, but we’re also treated to a back page of marvellous black and white studies of EAGLE characters by Keith Page, too, celebrating this special occasion in style.

Inside, the issue comes packed with its usual mix of features, including an article about EAGLE character “Jack O’ Lantern“, drawn by Robert Ayton, and a fascinating guide to his creator, author George Beardmore, who also penned “Fraser of Africa“, by Eric Summers.

We’re also treated to “Blackbow the Cheyenne” from David Britton, focusing on the story “Menace from Beyond”; and Steve Winders examines the EAGLE strip “Montgomery of Alamein“, first published in 1962, about the life of Field Marshall Montgomery, the work of Clifford Makins and Frank Bellamy.

The highlight of the issue – bearing in mind this is the publication of The Eagle Society, after all! – are the in-depth reports on their recent Gathering in Plymouth, artist Alan Langford a last minute but welcome replacement for a planned appearance by Keith Page.

Reg Hoare reports on the event, his feature accompanied by plenty of pictures, and Steve Winders’ speech about EAGLE and the radio from the Annual Dinner is published in full.
Plus, don’t miss the final part of the latest Archie Willoughby detective story, “The Case of the Elusive Elvis“, also by Steve Winders. A gem!
Eagle Times has that “classic” feel of a print comic zine, the team involved dedicated to their task with infectious enthusiasm for their subject matter. Well worth checking out, if you haven’t already!
