The latest issue of The Paperback Fanatic, a title edited and published by Justin Marriott since 2007, will be published by the end of November.
Issue 49 runs to 72 pages in full colour, with articles on Robert Lory, an American writer of speculative fiction, predominantly known for the Horrorscope, Shamryke Odell, Return of Dracula, and Trovo fiction series; Barry Hammond, author of the 1982 novel, Cold Front, poetry editor (and former fiction editor) for On Spec, Canada’s magazine of science fiction, fantasy and horror since 1991; Pyramid SF paperbacks, World War Two assassination thrillers, plastic surgery in paperback crime and thrillers, Kung Fu movie tie-ins, sleaze, shudder pulps, gothics, westerns and more.
Justin began publishing his flagship fanzine The Paperback Fanatic in 2007. In the years since then he has added Battling Britons, Pulp Horror, Men of Violence and more.
Justin’s fanzines are crammed with fascinating articles about authors, artists and publishers, and include overviews of books that can lead you to new reading adventures. Lavishly illustrated with cover scans and other photos, they’re well worth checking out.

The founder of downthetubes, which he established in 1998. John works as a comics and magazine editor, writer, and on promotional work for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival. He is currently editor of Star Trek Explorer, published by Titan – his third tour of duty on the title originally titled Star Trek Magazine.
Working in British comics publishing since the 1980s, his credits include editor of titles such as Doctor Who Magazine, Babylon 5 Magazine, and more. He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics. He has also edited several comic collections, including volumes of “Charley’s War” and “Dan Dare”.
He’s the writer of “Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies” for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs” with Dave Hailwood.
