Art by The Phoenix comic artist Zak Simmonds
While builders are busy on-site transforming Oxford’s The Story Museum into an even more inspiring and surprising place, events continue – and this April, their Easter Story Makers sessions offer the opportunity to enjoy a day of building stories with the learning team and brilliant talented associate artists.
Among them are The Phoenix comic artist Zak Simmonds, who’s running workshops on Tuesday 9th April 2019 for 8-12 years olds to discover how stories are told through comics – and have a chance to invent your own.
Freelance comic creator Zak’s numerous credits include art for “The Boy With 2 Heads“, written by Andy Mulligan and “If I Should Wake Without You“, written by John Dickinson and the epic fantasy adventure “Simon Swift“, written by Thomas Fickling, and his own “Sky Drifters” for The Phoenix; art for Let’s Make Comics and Looga and Barooga with writer Robin Etherington for Oxford University Press; covers for Titan Comics Doctor Who; and a self-published series, MONSTROSITY, sold at comic conventions and available to read on Tapas.
• More information and booking here on the Story Museum web site. Ages 8-12. All the Easter Story Makers sessions are unaccompanied workshops.
