

Tickets for Phoenix Fest 2025, taking place in Bowness-on-Windermere alongside the Lakes International Comic Art Festival in September, go on sale later today.
Tickets for previous Phoenix Fest events have sold out very quickly, so be ready to book at 8.00pm tonight for yours!

Held annually, Phoenix Fest has become a sell-out celebration of children’s comics and children’s comic creators. Guests this year include Jamie Smart, creator of the best-selling Bunny vs Monkey and Looshkin; Neill Cameron, creator of Mega Robo Bros, Donut Squad and How to Make Awesome Comics; James Turner, artist on Clatters & Bump and writer of Toby and the Pixies and Star Cat; Jess Bradley, the artist and writer of Squid Bits and Ravi and Jess; Sam Davies, the writer and artist of Tooth and Claw Academy for Magical Creatures; Zak Simmonds-Hurn, the artist of Legacy, Dragon Guard and Know Your Monsters; Abby Bulmer, the artist behind Doggo, Earth Protection Force and more; Emily Kimbell, the artist and co-writer behind Thingamajigs; Rob Deas, the writer and artist of Fawn and Troy Trailblazer; Marc Jackson, the writer and artist behind Duck Dare; Jonathan Barrett, the writer of Fates & Fortunesand Doggo; Joe Brady, the writer of The Island with No Name, Susie + Brad, Tosh’s Island and No Country (Book Two is called No Refuge); Tom Fickling, the writer of Legacy; Will Fickling, writer of The Pack, Dragon Guard, Doggo and Legacy; Ned Page, writer of Doggo; plus writer Daniel Kimbell, and character artist Siobhan McKenna.

Have a look at the full schedule of events above and decide which two or three events are the ones you most want to get tickets for.
Have a back up list of tickets for other events you want to secure. Remember, you’ll need to book tickets for each event separately. Tickets are £8 per event.
Jamie Smart’s workshop will be taking place at the Old Laundry Theatre. Tickets for this will be £10 per person.
How to use the booking system
Tickets must be purchased direct from the Lakes International Comic Art Festival (LICAF). Each event must be booked separately.
Once selected, tickets will stay in your basket for 20 minutes. Once you’ve chosen tickets for one event and added them to your basket, the page will show you what is in ‘Your cart’ (on the right hand side).
At the bottom of this page, there is the option to ‘Find other events‘. If you’ve booked for more than one event, you may need to scroll down to find this. Click on this to explore other events happening as part of the Lakes Festival.
If you need to book accessible tickets there should be an option on the event. If they have sold out, please contact LICAF directly, either through the event ‘contact us’ or by emailing carole@comicartfestival.com
