AMC’s live-action adaptation of Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s Vertigo comics series Preacher will launch in May 2016, Seth Rogan, the show’s executive producer has announced.
AMC announced it had ordered a pilot for a series based on the comic Preacher back in 2014, a comic that centres on Jesse Custer, a conflicted preacher in a small Texas town who merges with a creature that has escaped from heaven and develops the ability to make anyone do anything he says.
The show will star Dominic Cooper as Jesse Custer, Ruth Negga as Tulip, Joseph Gilgun as Cassidy, Ian Colletti as Arseface, and Tom Brooke as the angel Fiore.

The announcement of the show’s planned air date was shared, along with the poster above by Rogan on Twitter. There’s no word as yet on when the show will air on AMC in the UK, available free to BT Vision subscribers, but given how quickly Fear The Walking Dead ran on the channel it hopefully will be at a similar time.
