Independent British comics publisher PSYComics, publishers of the recently-launched Madness & Monsters, is currently teasing its new four book fantasy adventure saga centred on Greek hero, Odysseus.

Odysseus: in Defiance of the Gods, a 112-page story written by Laurence Alison, featuring art by Vũ Danh, will be the first project seeking crowdfunding support, a launch page already in place.
Odysseus: In Defiance of the Gods, Book One of Four, is written by Laurence Alison, lettered and designed by Neil Roche. Having defeated the Trojans, Odysseus and his crew must now make their way back to Ithaca. But Poseidon himself wants to ensure death and destruction lies in their path with mysterious islanders trying to drug them and a cannibalistic cyclops trying to eat them!
Can Odysseus’ leadership prevail or will he and his crew die so shortly after they have set sail?

The action continues in Circe, written by Laurence Alison, lettered and designed by Neil Roche, 40 pages already drawn. PSYComics have brought 2000AD art droid Simon Harrison out of sequential art retirement for this new adventure, to the delight of fans of his work for the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic, returning last year to provide the cover for 2000AD 2394 last year.

Both Odysseus: in Defiance of the Gods and Circe will be published this year.
“They will be an incredible pair of companion stories, with contributions by Warwick Fraser-Coombe, Luke Michael Copsey and some other special guest artists,” Neil teases.
“The first batch of Circe pages have landed and oh my god, they are simply stunning! 2025 is going to be epic!”
“The comic will have two covers, the standard cover and the ‘naked’ cover variant.
“Man, the guy has still got it!”
“[it’s] absolutely bonkers and a bit raunchy too. You’re in for one hell of a treat!”
Simon Harrison started his art and comic creation career with titles such as Shuk & Doode, published Computer and Video Games magazine in 1988, co-written and co-created with Tim Crowfoot, recently republished by Dark & Golden.

Since working on 2000AD in the late 1980s and early 90s, on strips such as “Revere” and “Strontium Dogs”, Simon travelled extensively across the globe. He’s also a martial arts instructor and has spent time as a bodyguard in war zones in Crimea and Israel. He currently works as a collaborative fine artist in BECKERHARRISON, exhibiting in Berlin, London, Washington, and New York.

In an interview on the 2000AD website last year, we discovered he’s currently splitting his time between that and working on the production of a TV show, whilst also concentrating on personal projects exploring the function of human consciousness and more, including DOGON, a really fantastically strange visual Sci-Fi tale that “explores the atavistic racial memories all humans hold within their genetic code.”
