First announced back in June 2019, Rebellion’s first feature film, the post-apocalyptic thriller School’s Out Forever, gets its digital release next month (February) followed by a Blu-Ray and DVD release in April.

The film is set to be followed by several projects based on Rebellion’s comic book and publishing shared worlds, including, as previously reported, the new Judge Dredd  Mega-City One project and Duncan Jones’ Rogue Trooper film.

No sooner has 15-year-old Lee Keegan been expelled from his private school than a pandemic spreads like wildfire around the globe. With his father dead and mother trapped abroad, Lee is given one instruction: go back to school.

But safety and security at St. Mark’s School for Boys is in short supply. Its high walls can’t stop the local parish council from forming a militia and imposing marshal law, while inside the dorms the end of the world is having a dangerous effect on his best friend and his unrequited crush on the school nurse isn’t helping him concentrate on staying alive.

The film stars Oscar Kennedy, Liam Lau Fernandez, Alex MacQueen, Samantha Bond, and Jasmine Blackborow, with Steve Oram and Anthony Head.

School’s Out Forever takes its title from a collection of tales, based on novels from Rebellion’s Afterblight Chronicles project, a shared world that features contributions from various authors and hails from Rebellion’s Abaddon Books imprint.

School’s Out Forever

In the books, Scott K. Andrews stories follow a group of characters from a public school as they struggle to survive after a plague wipes out most of mankind – defending themselves against cannibalistic gangs, religious fanatics, a bullying prefect with a taste for crucifixion, and even the remnants of the US Army.

The collection, School’s Out Forever collects all three novels, the short story The Man Who Would Not Be King, as well as interviews, the original School’s Out pitch, and its original, unpublished prologue.

The School’s Out Forever film, which had a £1 million budget, is written and directed by Oliver Milburn, who was behind the 2016 short Dunroamin, and produced by Emma Biggins, previously a production manager on films including Slaughterhouse Rulez, co-produced by Ben Smith. Its Executive Producers are Rebellion owners Chris Kingsley OBE and Jason Kingsley OBE.

School’s Out Forever releases in the UK & Ireland on Digital on 15th February and on DVD & Blu-ray from 12th April, 2021 – check out the official web site for details and more information:
