If you’re in the Eastbourne area this weekend and looking for something comic-related to do then look no further than Wyntercon VI, which features a great Comic Zone line up, put together by local comic shop Scorch Comics.
Over the weekend, the Scorch Comics team have organised a Pop-Up Comic Shop with hundreds of new products, and a comic art gallery featuring original and exclusive art from the 2000AD artist Chris Weston. You can also sit down in an Interactive Art Studio , with the most incredible inspiration all around you, along with a Comic Making Workshop run by acclaimed comic creator and writer Tom Eglington.
“You can ask him real questions about what it’s like to make comics and work in the industry,” Scorch Comics Sean Simmons says, “and by the end of it you’ll have created your very own comic book.
“It’s possibly the most exciting thing you could do with your afternoon if you love comics and want to work with them. You cannot get a better masterclass than this!”

Meet Rok of The Reds and Judge Dredd artist Dan Cornwell on Saturday at WynterCon VI
Judge Dredd artist Dan Cornwell will also be at Wyntercon IV, signing and sketching all Saturday afternoon. You can get commissions from him, get your Dredd merchandise signed by him, and support the launch of the Kickstarter for his brand new comic, Rok the God, which he’s working on with the one and only John Wagner!
Separate to the Scorch Comics-organised efforts to make this WynterCon memorable, 2000AD artist and Game of Thrones illustrator Will Simpson is also at the event.
And if you’re still hungry for more, Scorch Comics are also joined by The Cult Film Club, who’ll be announcing a brand new season of films at Eastbourne’s Towner Art Gallery, featuring exclusive merchandise and membership sign-ups.
And to top it all off, the store’s #DalekDez will be at the event all weekend, providing security and just being a right geezer in general.
Tickets for Wyntercon go off line today, so don’t delay and grab them now – only a limited number of tickets will be available on the door on both days.
“It is not an understatement to say that this will be the most insane and ambitious thing we have ever done,” says Sean. We wish the team the very best of luck!
