Soaring Penguin Press are to publish a new four issue crime noir comic series, The Black Feather Falls, from Ellen Lindner in the UK.
Travel back to 1920s London and meet Tina Swift, who has just arrived in London from the hinterland of the United States, expecting to lead a quiet life. When the street where she works turns into a crime scene, and Tina discovers a crucial clue she must leave behind her desire for an ordinary life.
Disgusted by this murder the police seem keen to sweep under the rug, Tina picks up a thread of intrigue that will lead her all the way to the trenches of World War I, the offices of a British state and to a criminal lair – but Tina must unravel even more disturbing secrets, the one she brought from her homeland.
Born on Long Island, illustrator and writer, Ellen Lindner is the author of Undertow, a graphic novel about Coney Island in the early 1960s, and the editor of The Strumpet, a transatlantic comics magazine showcasing art by upcoming women cartoonists.

The founder of downthetubes, which he established in 1998. John works as a comics and magazine editor, writer, and on promotional work for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival. He is currently editor of Star Trek Explorer, published by Titan – his third tour of duty on the title originally titled Star Trek Magazine.
Working in British comics publishing since the 1980s, his credits include editor of titles such as Doctor Who Magazine, Babylon 5 Magazine, and more. He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics. He has also edited several comic collections, including volumes of “Charley’s War” and “Dan Dare”.
He’s the writer of “Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies” for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs” with Dave Hailwood.
