There are some smashing items on offer in the latest auction from The Comic Collector run by Willoughby Hurrell right now.

These include a some very good looking Beezer Books from 1958, 1959 and 1960, a near full year of 1960 issues of the weekly war comic, Victor and a preview issue of IPC’s final non-licensed boys adventure comic, Wildcat, published in the late 1980s.

Also in this auction are the first three issues of Eagle from Volume One (1950), as well as the first issue of the 1980s Eagle, a cracking looking first issue of New English Library’s Dracula comic, an issue of Wizard with a Desperate Dan cover, a selection of Alan Class comics with Amazing Spider-Man covers, including No. 21, featuring the first Spider-Man annual, the final issue of Plug comic before it merged with Beezer, some post-war Rupert books, and much more.

“The 1959 Beezer Book is a brilliant copy,” Willoughby tells us, “and the 1960 Book is the best copy I’ve ever seen, in a brilliant VFN grade.”

The Comic Collector specialises in vintage British comics, from the obvious Beano, Dandy and 2000AD to the lesser known Bullet, Nutty and Magic.

The auctions each start with a 99p start bid and no reserve.

Offering a range of British comic items on a regular basis, we’re told the company will do deals on some items, and they are interested in buying all pre-millennium comics and comic related ephemera, single issues or complete collections.
