SavySoda has announced a new collaboration between the expansive universe of Pixel Starships! and the classic Gerry and Sylvia Anderson Supermarionation series Thunderbirds, licensed by Zoo 55, part of ITV Studios.
The Pixel Starships game has been meticulously developed to offer players an immersive and captivating adventure in a single persistent world. Taking aspiring captains on an epic odyssey across the galaxy, Pixel Starships lets players design, build, and command their own fleet of starships. Assemble a team of skilled crewmates, upgrade ship modules, and engage in thrilling tactical battles against friends and foes alike with a roster of epic space-age weapons.
Through its unique blend of strategy, resource management, multiplayer competition, and unprecedented success on Kickstarter, Pixel Starships has garnered a dedicated following, with over six million players earning their captain stripes during its Early Access phase after it launched back in 2023.
Pilots can now recruit the heroes of the International Rescue to their crew to thwart another one of The Hood’s devious schemes – and experience two of the team’s iconic craft, Thunderbird 2 and Thunderbird 5, like never before.
Created by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson and debuting in1965, as many downthetubes readers will know, Thunderbirds became a global phenomenon, captivating audiences with its secret organisation of heroes that uses incredible vehicles to save lives. Now, the Tracy brothers, Lady Penelope and even the villainous Hood are joining the Pixel Starship’s fleet – and are ready to bring their unique brand of rescue to the stars.
Galactic anarchy can be a messy business: fires raging, EMPs frying systems, poison seeping through the airlocks. Now with the Thunderbirds in your crew, those status effects won’t stand a chance. Each time the team repairs or attacks, they completely purge all negative effects, making them the ultimate guardian angels for any starship captain. It’s a passive ability so powerful, it makes you feel invincible (don’t worry, we won’t tell The Hood).
This collaboration is the first time a new Starbase design is being introduced to the game: the legendary Thunderbird 5. Alongside the Starbase, International Rescue’s Thunderbird 2 is also available for players to unlock and command. Captain these legendary vehicles, recruit fan favourites heroes and equip them with exclusive new gear to tackle the galaxy’s toughest challenges.
The Pixel Starships Thunderbirds event is now live. Pixelated pilots can jump in immediately to take control of these iconic vehicles, while aspiring International Rescue recruits can download Pixel Starships from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store and Steam for free.
