Two popular YA Danish fantasy novels, launching two distinct series, published by top Danish publishing house, Tellerup, are now available in English, distributed by Lancaster-based Gazelle Book Services.
Based in Sorø, Denmark, Tellerup (Tellup) was founded in 1972 by schoolteacher Kristian Tellerup. Initially, the company was created because Kristian struggled to publish his own writing. Since then, Tellerup has grown into a major player in Danish literature, primarily known for their Children’s and Young Adult books.
Gazelle Book Services are now distributing two of their fantasy books, aimed at teens and up, now translated into English: The Mystery Component and The Prisoner from Wolverfield. Both titles, the first in two different series, are available to order from your local bookshop or online services.
The Mystery Component by Line Wenzel, translated by Josefine Ahlberg, is the first volume in the alchemy punk series, Academia, combining elements of science fiction, mystery, and fantasy, offering “an unforgettable journey through a world where knowledge and magic collide”.
A lawyer by day, Line Wenzel is author behind both Academia and another fantasy series, Mindelandet, as well as a number of romance YA novels.
Step back in time to New York City, 1929, where a riveting scandal unfolds with two rival universities at the forefront when the city’s new courthouse collapses. Two unlikely partners, Nia Himlan, a dedicated hermeticist student, and Aden Fenice, a passionate astronomer, are sent on an investigation to uncover the truth behind the collapse and their universities’ potential involvement. Although, what begins as a simple inquiry soon becomes a complex web of conflicts and interference from a third university, each more concerned with reputation than reality.
As Nia and Aden dig deeper, they find themselves at odds with powerful administrators, realizing that their quest for the truth could have dire consequences if left unresolved. With their futures hanging in the balance, they must navigate through science, prejudice, and magic to solve the mystery.
The Prisoner from Wolverfield by Lene Dybdahl, translated by Michael E. N Larsen is also the first volume in its own series in the world Magismondo.
Lene Dybdahl is the Danish author of nine published fantasy novels at Tellerup. She also owns the company Pen & Pondus, an online course business that offers online writing courses and courses about creating and launching profitable online courses through email marketing.
Her fantasy series ‘Nøglens Vogtere’ (Keepers of the Key), two books in the series already translated into English, has been described as “The Da Vinci Code for kids” and her writing has been compared to The Children of the Lamp series by P. B. Kerr. Her fantasy series ‘Ovanienprofetierne’ (The Ovania Profecies) has been featured in the Danish Literary Magazine at the London Book Fair.
Magismondo is an enchanting world, where magical abilities are rare and highly sought after. From shape shifts, to thought whispers and fire makers, each magical ability is seen as precious assets to the royal courts, just waiting to be found.
In The Prisoner from Wolverfield young Arrow lives with her family in the forest near the village of Beechwood, far away from the kingdom of Wolverfield’s royal court. Nevertheless, she still tries to hide that tiny spark that appears in the palm of her hand which always seems to flare up at the most inconvenient of times.

He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics. He has also edited several comic collections, including volumes of “Charley’s War” and “Dan Dare”.
He’s the writer of “Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies” for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs” with Dave Hailwood.
